Zayed varsity convocation on Sunday

Dr Hanif Al Qassimi, Vice President of Zayed University, indicated that the president of the university will review the academic and scientific plans of the university and goals and missions would also be set for the year.

The staff and faculty members of all colleges, departments, and centers will meet for two days to discuss the ambitious plan, which also includes the new academic programmes and cultural activities for the students.

The convocation will also evaluate last year's achievements which were submitted by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of Zayed University. These accomplishments included developing academic programmes, supporting scientific research activities, coordinating with the society and recognising the goals and mission of the university and attracting distinguished faculty members.

Several meetings will be held between colleges, departments and centers. Workshops and presentations will be given by distinguished experts about the new ideas and practices that develop the educational and academic process.

This year's convocation also focuses on students' leadership skills which are considered one of the main elements of the teaching at the university.
