Woman pilgrim dies in plane

RAS AL KHAIMAH — A 66-year-old woman passenger from Ghana, who was travelling to the holy city of Makkah for Haj pilgrimage, died on board the aircraft at around 5am yesterday, before the plane landed at RAK International Airport.

A RAK Civil Aviation Authority source said the passenger, Mariam Ishaq, was supposed to spend a few hours in the transit at RAK airport before embarking on the connecting flight to Saudi Arabia.

A senior official of RAK Police said the woman seemed to have died a natural death. Her body has been shifted to Saqr Government Hospital.
