A major fire erupted in the roof of Splash General Trading Center located in the Ajman Industrial Area. No casualties or and loss of properties have been reported. The fire only gutted cardboard garbage.
Col Nasser Al Rezi, spokesperson of Ajman Civil Defense said that they received a call about the fire at 11.26am. Firefighters from the nearby station arrived in the site in less than five minutes. They immediate doused the fire in 10 minutes and controlled it from spreading to the rest of the shopping centre.
Employees and shoppers have been evacuated, to ensure safety. The smoke emanated heavily, due to the flammable nature of cardboard.
Police patrol supported operations by partially closing the road leading to the outlet.
