Vegetable sellers told to move to new market
AL AIN — The Al Ain Municipality has ordered a halt to the sale of vegetables from lorries or benches at the old vegetable and fruit market in Al Ain downtown.
This was stated yesterday by Ahmed Al Shaiba Al Shiriani, Director of Investment and Development Administration in Al Ain Municipality.
The decision taken in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Al Ain Branch is meant to ensure high standards of food safety .
Al Shiriani said all retailers must move to the new Al Zafaranah vegetable and fruit market in the Al Khabissi area. The municipality has given vegetables and fruits traders time until October 30 to move to the new market.
