USQ launches scholarships

DUBAI — The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) in Dubai will launch scholarship awards for Masters degree students interested in pursuing their qualification in MBA, MIT or MBA-International Business, from June 2005.

Professor Rod Gerber, Chief Academic Officer, USQ Dubai said, “The scholarship process is based purely on the merit system and it recognises and encourages bright and intelligent students. The scholarships have been introduced to help students realise their career goals and academic dreams. USQ in Dubai offers its Academic Scholarships indiscriminately and students of all nationalities are eligible for applying towards attaining the scholarship.”

Students applying for scholarships in MBA-IB and MIT have to meet an academic criteria to prove their merit whereas those applying for the MBA with specialisations in Human Resources, Finance and Marketing are expected to provide a combination of work experience at a managerial position and academic excellence.

The Academic Scholarships, which are based on tuition fees, is a rewarding partial scholarship of 15 per cent of the tuition fees. These scholarships will be provided for the first term of study with a renewal of the same every term based on a review of performance of the candidate at the end of each term. Scholarships are available for full time/ part time postgraduate students beginning term in June and September 2005 as long as their application meets the university entry requirements and approvals

The last date of applying for the Scholarship is May 13 for the June 2005 intake and August 19 for the September 2005 intake. The Masters degree programmes offered at USQ in Dubai are the Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Information Technology and the Masters of Business Administration, International Business.
