UAQ Ruler hikes salaries

UMM AL QUWAIN — His Highness Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, has ordered a salary hike for UAE nationals and resident expatriates working in local government departments in the emirate.

"The hike which will be effective from June 1, will include civilian and military personnel working in local government departments of Umm Al Quwain emirate," it was announced here yesterday. According to Shaikh Rashid’s order, nationals working in local government institutions of Umm Al Quwain will receive a 25 per cent increase, whereas expatriates will get a 15 per cent hike.

The move is part of Shaikh Rashid’s efforts to ease the burden of living costs for employees of local departments.
