Move aims to amplify Zambia’s renewable energy capacity
During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Minister for Presidential Affairs Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Syrian President warmly welcomed Shaikh Khalifa and his entourage to Syria. He said the visit would definitely have a very good outcome and would lay a new block in the building of bilateral ties between the two countries and their peoples.
The Syrian President expressed great satisfaction on the level of ties between the two countries, having witnessed great development in the areas of economy, trade and investment in joint ventures. He reiterated his total support for more of those projects in all sectors.
Shaikh Khalifa reaffirmed the UAE’S commitment to further boost the existing fraternal relations with Syria. He praised the significant and steady growth in economic ties between the two countries, especially in the area of building a strong joint investment base in the economic, trade, tourism, IT and telecommunications sectors.
They discussed ways to further boost bilateral cooperation in all areas, particularly in the areas of economy and finance, as well as in sharing of experience for the mutual benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
The two sides reiterated their joint commitment to continuous efforts to further boost the level of ties between them and to continuous coordination and consultation for their mutual interest.
They also discussed the current Arab situation in all aspects and stressed the need to boost Arab solidarity and joint action. They exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Also present at the meeting on the UAE side were Minister for Public Sector Development, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi and the UAE Ambassador to Syria, Yusuf Mohammed Al Midfae.
Present on the Syrian side were Syrian Vice-President Farouk Al Shara, Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Al Otri, Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Al Hussein, Foreign Minister Waleed Al Moalem, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Dr Ghassan Al Laham, Minister Of Culture, Dr Riyad Nasan Agha, who is also the head of the honorary mission accompanying the UAE President and Syrian Ambassador to the UAE Rostom Al Zaabi.
$100 MILLION FOR HOSPITAL
DAMASCUS — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has granted Syria an amount of $100 million for building of a big hospital in that country as a gift to the Syrian people. The gesture reflects the UAE President’s great love and regards for the Syrian people.
