Two truck drivers hurt in accident

SHARJAH — An Asian driver was seriously injured and another driver from the subcontinent received minor injuries as some trucks smashed into each other at the third intersection of Sharjah Ring Road yesterday.

The injured drivers were rushed to the Kuwaiti Hospital. The accident caused massive traffic jam as well as oil spill from one of the trucks involved in the accident.

The accident occurred at around 1pm as one of the truck drivers suddenly stopped his vehicle near Al Thiqa Club, leading the trucks behind to crash into each other. However, the driver of the car that caused the accident, escaped unhurt.

A source from the Sharjah Traffic Police told Khaleej Times that the Anjad patrol, ambulance, and Civil Defence teams rushed to the site as soon as they were informed of the accident. First Aid was provided to the injured on the spot before shifting them to the hospital.
