Having one of the holiest sites - the Holy Kaaba - in the world, Makkah welcomes millions of Muslim pilgrims from all over the world throughout the year, who visit the city for Umrah and Haj.
With the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, many Muslims choose to perform Umrah, filling up the Grand Mosque with worshippers throughout the day as pilgrims gather for Umrah rituals and daily prayers as well.
This moment of unity was recently shared on Twitter by @rashedzahrany with one little difference. It was shot in the form of a timelapse video

The video, which was posted on June 2, shows the hundreds and thousands of Muslims around the Kaaba. The video was taken overhead and clearly shows the massive number of worshippers present in Makkah during the Haj.
This is not just the only unique view of Makkah however, earlier DubaiSat-2 captured a satellite image of the Makkah Grand Mosque on the occasion of the holy month.
The Haj is an extremely important aspect of Islam and is one of the pillars of the faith. For more information on Haj, click here.
