The unemployed Emirati, I.A., 26, is accused of possessing 283.03 grammes of hashish for trafficking and an Indian, J.K., 25, is accused of possessing 1.75 grammes of the contraband for peddling.

Both of them, along with another Indian business partner, S.H., 35, are also facing the charges of using narcotics. An Anti-Narcotics Unit officer said the police received a tip-off that I.A. was about to receive drugs from someone in Jumeirah and would deliver it to J.K.

Around 8.30pm on April 3 this year, a police unit went to a street near Palm Beach Hotel in Rafaa area where J.K. and S.H. were seen.

The cops found hashish in J.K.'s car which he said he had taken from I.A. to deliver to S.H.

J.K. said S.H. gave him Dh15,000 to be handed over to I.A. as the price of the hashish.

I.A. was nabbed from a hotel in Umm Al Quwain and 283.03 grammes of hashish were found in his wallet. Yesterday, I.A. told the court that the hashish found in his possession was for his personal use and not for trafficking.
