He said the municipality had issued three licences for shopping centres, as they will contribute to developing the economy of the emirate and lay the foundation for future investment and prosperity. The shopping centres are also expected to provide fresh impetus to tourism and contribute to the emirate’s architecture and image development.

Mr Ebrahem Al Reyaysa added that the final phase of the construction of the centres was completed recently and all three would be inaugurated before the end of the this year.

Located in Al Nuaimia district and Ajman City, the well-designed centres have facilities such as food courts and entertainment areas. All the three centres are easily accessible and have well-supported large parking lots to receive substantial number of shoppers and visitors each day. The shopping centres will include outlets of major brands and a hypermarket, major pharmacies, and several restaurants and cafes.

Mr Ebrahem Al Reyaysa pointed out that the new centres have something for everyone and it is only a matter of time before Ajman residents and shoppers from other emirates visit these centres regularly. Dubai and Sharjah residents in particular are expected to throng these centres when the quality of services there is discovered.

He said the opening hours of these centres will vary, but outlets are generally open from 08.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 21.00. Although most shops are open on Friday evenings, they are closed for prayers between 11.30 and 13.30.
