According to Brigadier Rashid Mujlad, Head of the investigation section of Ajman Police Department, the students were caught sitting in the cafes in various parts of the emirate without the knowledge of their parents.
The students were taken to the police department and their parents were summoned to notify them about the misconduct of their children. Brig. Mujlad said that the department had organised a drive to target students who spend their day in Internet cafes instead of school. The police officers had observed the large number of students in these cafes during the daytime.
The campaign aimed at alerting the parents about the misconduct of the children, encourage the students to be serious about learning and protecting students from going astray and turning to crimes.
He said the students were handed over to their fathers who thanked the police for alerting them.
