The project is expected to contribute to youth development by encouraging their creative and sports activities, Dr Amna Khalifa, Director-General of the Foundation, told Khaleej Times.
The playgrounds are expected to be completed by May, she said, adding that the one in Al Jarf area is in the final phase and will be handed over to the foundation by the end of this month.
Dr Khalifa said the facilities would help youths practise several games including football, volleyball and tennis.
She said it is aimed at enhancing cooperation with other organisations in order to ensure a lasting and effective coordination that streamlines the social work and offers better services to the community.
“The foundation was established to serve and develop the community by providing suitable employment for job seekers, protecting and maintaining family ties and help youth development. In pursuing those goals, we shall follow the international standards and at the same time conform with our society’s values and principles,” Dr Khalifa added.
