In his speech, Al Ghurair highlighted that the fourth meeting represents a new starting point for periodic meetings of the GCC parliaments.

He proposed a number of points relating to the GCC joint parliamentary work internally and externally.

Al Ghurair added that in respect of the international relations, it is important to consider how to strengthen the role of GCC joint parliamentary diplomacy at the Arab and international forums as it has become an essential necessity in the defence of nations.

He also called for agreeing on a working system to enhance parliamentary coordination and cooperation between the GCC legislative bodies in this regard.

He also proposed the organisation of a GCC joint parliamentary conference annually for the Arab Gulf states.

Al Ghurair also suggested the final statement should include unified stance towards the Gulf, Arab and Islamic issues, and international events relevant to the peoples of the GCC States and their interests.
