Sharjah - As part of its participation in Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in collaboration with the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (Tamkeen), has launched the Eid Clothing Campaign at its four leisure destinations in Sharjah. The campaign will continue until the 19th of Ramadan.
Themed “Together we put a Smile on their Faces”, the campaign and the foundation’s members aim to bring joy to the hearts of orphans and share the happiness of Eid Al Fitr with them by providing Eid clothes to them. The initiative is in line with the principle of social solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.
Starting from the first day of Ramadan, Shurooq will make Dh200 donation coupons available at restaurants and customer service desks in Al Qasba, Al Montazah, Al Majaz Waterfront and the Heart of Sharjah. Shurooq’s employees and visitors of these destinations may buy coupons directly from the four destinations. Proceeds will go to the Eid Clothing campaign managed by Tamkeen.
Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq, said: “We are launching this campaign in many of our leisure destinations during Ramadan to enable our employees and all members of Sharjah society, including residents and visitors, to help orphans and aid needy families within the spirit of solidarity, which is highlighted during Ramadan.”
Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director of Tamkeen stressed that this initiative will help support orphans, help to take care of them and improve their chances of finding better living conditions. She added that the Eid Clothing coupons will enable orphans who are members of the foundation to buy the clothes they select for Eid Al Fitr, which will keep their right to choose and increase their happiness.”
This significant role enriches initiatives between institutions and community organisations and helps to offer more social and corporate support to serve the interest of society. It reflects the country’s vision in developing the spirit of involvement in social responsibility initiatives to aid in the country’s development and progress.
