Sharjah - Xposure offers many prospects to learn new skills and network with leading professionals and enthusiasts, along with the opportunity to see, handle and try the latest photography products.

Xposure, the first international photography festival in Sharjah, began on Wednesday at the Expo Centre Sharjah. Bringing together a wide range of events and activities on a single platform, Xposure 2016 is an initiative that celebrates the field of photojournalism in the UAE and region.

It was opened in the presence of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Organised by the Sharjah Media Centre, the four-day event is the official photography, educational and imaging platform that combines a broad range of photography events. These include exhibitions, workshops, seminars, presentations, competitions, photo walks and a photographic product trade show.

"Since the invention of the camera, many photos have changed the course of history, making them mightier and more influential than words in touching hearts and minds, and relaying a message that shapes public opinion," Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre, said during the opening ceremony.
Supported by professionals and industry experts, Xposure offers many prospects to learn new skills and network with leading professionals and enthusiasts, along with the opportunity to see, handle and try the latest photography products.
The event offers advanced training in the fields of photojournalism, along with documentary photography. The integrated experience includes all the needs of the photographers from soft knowledge to advanced technical skills.
