The authority, so far, received around 8,000 heads of livestock, which are slated to be sacrificed during Eid and their meat to be distributed among needy families in Abu Dhabi and its areas like Al Ain, Baniyas and Western Region, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman.

Mohammed Ibrahim Al Hammadi, acting general manager of the authority for carrying out Eid Al Adha humanitarian projects, said, “We intend to reach the maximum number of families under the project so that all could celebrate the occasion with same enthusiasm. We distribute not only meat but also clothes, foodstuffs and other material.”

According to the RCA, around 850 families in Umm Al Quwain will receive the sacrificial share under the project, while the number of families in other emirates expected to benefit is not available as the process of distributing the share is still on.
