Dubai — Residents and visitors will get an unique cultural experience from today as the fifth edition of ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ begins its campaign inspired by Islamic values, heritage and tradition.
The initiative launched by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, is aimed at showcasing spirituality and cross-cultural understanding during the holy month of Ramadan.
Over the next four weeks, ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ will offer residents, local communities and families an opportunity to learn more about the month of reflection and self-restraint, and share special moments by participating in spiritual and cultural activities.
The range of events and activities include Dubai International Holy Quran Award; Dubai Ramadan Forum; Ramadan Tents and the Ramadan Night Market.
The family-bonding activities will add to the charm of a city renowned for its tourism landmarks and hospitality.
Dubai’s retail sector will also add value to the Ramadan shopping experience through a number of special offers, deals and discounts while malls in Dubai will create memorable moments for families through cultural events.
The event is part of this year’s Dubai Summer Calendar, which comprises an array of special events, festivities and celebrations organised by DFRE to help position the city as a summer destination of choice. The packed season will also feature Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Fitr (July 18 – July 22) ; Modhesh World (July 9 – August 29); Dubai Summer Surprises (July 23 – September 5) and Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha (September 24 – October 2).
