RAK Police nab drug smuggler

RAS AL KHAIMAH — The Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested an Asian national allegedly for involving in drug smuggling and seized 96kg of hashish from his possession.

The arrest was made a few of days ago in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) in coordination with the anti-drug unit of the Abu Dhabi Police. Col Mohammed Ali bin Hamad Al Shihi, who heads the Anti-Narcotic Section at the RAK Police said on Thursday that the suspect, 28, who had entered the UAE on a visit visa was arrested on a highway in RAK while in possession of the drugs. The police found the drugs hidden in boxes and loaded on a truck.
