A decision taken by the Department of Social Services and Commercial Buildings (DSSCB) to upgrade the raffle system for flats will come into effect today.

Juma Al Mansouri, Director of the Rents Section, told Khaleej Times that the draw starts at 8am and continues until 11am every day. “Results are usually announced at 12 pm and winners are notified through SMS,” he added.

He said both nationals and expatriates can enter the draw during the official working hours, but they should submit marriage contracts and copies of their passports.

He added that some 1,000 people are vying for 10 flats. “The DSSCB offers flats at affordable rents as per the new tenancy law in Abu Dhabi which fixed rent cap at 7 per cent.”
