Price hotline opens today

ABU DHABI — The Abu Dhabi Planning and Economy Department in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy has started implementing a decisive strategy to curb the possibility of any price hike of commodities following the government announcement of 70 per cent pay rise for its employees, Mohammed Rashid Al Rumaithi, Director of Commercial Protection Unit of the Consumer Protection Section (CPS), told Khaleej Times.

Speaking about the main features of the strategy, he said the Ministry of Economy would open a dedicated hotline today through which consumers all over the country could immediately alert the authorities concerned about any increase in prices.
