Police officers honoured

DUBAI — The Dubai Police has honoured 180 officers and partners of the Dubai Police with certificates and plaques for good performance in the advancement of the force’s mission.

The third annual honouring ceremony held on December 13 in the auditorium of Dubai Police Headquarters was attended by the Deputy General Manager of the General Department of Total Quality, Lt-Col. Fahad Saif Al-Mutawa.

MENOP show opens today

DUBAI — The 5th Middle East Natural and Organic Products Exhibition (MENOP) will open at the Dubai World Trade Centre today.

The three-day event brings under one roof manufacturers, producers and distributors of natural and organic products including cosmetics, organic food, baby care, aromatherapy, yoga, naturopathy, food and beverage, natural juices, dairy products, music, herbal remedies, energy substitutes, fabrics and clothing, and furniture and gifts.

Training for HR professionals

AL AIN — As part of a major project in their Training and Development Course, Afra Al Suwaidi and Fatema Salem Al Ameri, Third Year Business students at Al Ain Women’s College of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), recently conducted an impressive training session at Dolphin Energy in Abu Dhabi for 18 human resource executives and officers.

The session focussed on Stephen Covey’s book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” Afra and Fatema received excellent feedback from the trainees who appreciated the session and said the topics covered during the session will help them not only in their jobs but also in their personal life.

AUS attends climate meet

DUBAI — The American University of Sharjah (AUS) recently participated in a global gathering in the United States that addressed the role of universities in climate change. AUS was the only university from the Arab world to participate in the “Global Colloquium of University Presidents” held at New York University (NYU).

AUS Chancellor Winfred Thompson was among a distinguished group of university leaders from around the world especially invited to participate in the colloquium.

The two-day event was held under the auspices of Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, who delivered the opening address.
