Dubai: Former president and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has called for accountability of those judges who took oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
In a message issued on the eve of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's birth anniversary, he said that his party would oppose any attempt of an individual or institution to take control of the country.
Zardari said that portraying oneself as a holy cow or conducting selective accountability is also a 'corruption' and his party would also oppose it. Those persons who had indemnified dictatorships should also be held accountable, Zardari said.
The PPP co-chairman further said that persons responsible for compromising on national security through non-state actors should also be taken to task.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked the workers to carry forward the philosophy and vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as a homage to the great democrat, founder of the PPP and first democratically-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. In his message on the 88th birthday of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bilawal said that Bhutto pieced together the country after East Pakistan broke away and gave it first-ever unanimous constitution, which created a strong bond of harmony among the federating units and gave the fundamental and equal rights to the citizens of Pakistan for the first time.
He said that Bhutto launched far-reaching projects for the economic development and defence of the country.
