Now, DSF Photo Awards

DUBAI — In recognition of the contributions made by professional and amateur photographers for the promotion of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), organisers have announced the launch of Photography Awards for exceptional photography.

A first in the history of DSF, the awards will be given away during the shopping festival season.

The DSF Photography Awards, sponsored by Fuji Film, ScanDisk and Nikon, will provide Press and amateur photographers the opportunity to click away at the vibrant, colourful spectacles that make up DSF. Participants stand the chance to win attractive cash prizes in the contest that will feature two categories — Press and Amateur. All entries will also be based on two themes — DSF Families, and DSF Celebrations.

Entries under the theme ‘DSF Families’ must ideally be an expression of the slogan ‘One World. One Family’ and depict the multi-cultural characteristic of Dubai by portraying the diverse nationalities that take part in the festival.

Under the theme ‘DSF Celebrations’, entries should reflect the slogan, ‘A World of Festivals’, to highlight the main events and activities organised during the shopping fiesta, like snap shots of shows or raffle draws.

While the first prize in the Press category carries a cash award of $5,000, the second prize winner is entitled to a cash prize of $3,000. The third prize winner will take home $2,000. In the Amateur category, the first, second, and the third prize winners get to take home $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 respectively.

Digitally enhanced photographs are not allowed and will be disqualified. Likewise, all entries that do not meet the subject criteria of each category and theme will be rejected.
