The number is expected to increase to 195 tourist ships by 2015 ferrying about 575,000 passengers. “Several international companies have chosen Dubai as a centre for their operations,” the official added.
Meanwhile, the Dubai immigration department processed 20,507 transactions during the four-day Eid Al Adha holiday, from November 15 to 18.

“The big number of the applications handled reflects Dubai residency staffers’ devotion and keenness to provide the best, fastest and most convenient services to customers,” he said, noting that some other staffers were alert round the clock to process transactions online round the clock.
Major General Marri said as many as 7,885 transactions were processed on Monday while 529 applications were processed online on Tuesday, the first day of Eid Al Adha. “Day two of the holiday, Wednesday, saw 6,173 transactions against 5,920 ones on Thursday till 1pm.”As for the AMER service, some 1,851 transactions were processed through the hotline — 8005111. “Those included 12 emergency cases in collaboration with the Emergency Team,” the official added.
