Lt-Gen Shaikh Saif heard a briefing from Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director, Administration, about the operational mechanisms of the two motorcycles to deliver first aid services to injured persons in events until the arrival of ambulances.

Manned with high medical professionals and state-of-the art equipment, he said the two first aid units provide a qualitative leap in the field ambulance services delivered to the members of the public during popular events.

He noted that the paramedics provided services for the first time during the 2010 Formula1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit.

The two motorcycle ambulances were seen as model projects within the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy and the Administration’s development projects.

The first aid service has eight motorcycles. —
