In a tragic incident, eight women of a family were killed after fire broke out in their house in Barka, Oman.
The rescue authorities stated that a woman and her five daughters, including the woman's sister, were killed after fire engulfed the entire house on Tuesday early morning.
According to a statement by Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA), "As soon as the incident was reported, fire-fighters reached the house in Al Salam neighborhood in Barka and started extinguishing the fire at 4.35am."
"We are still investigating the cause of the fire. The Royal Oman Police received a notification at 4.30am that a house was on fire in Barka and rescue teams swung into action, PACDA official was quoted saying in Times of Oman.

The report states that the preliminary information suggested that the fire started in a lounge in the house and in no time thick black smoke engulfed the entire house causing the family to choke.
All affected in fire were taken to the Barka Health Centre including the housemaid who was of an African nationality survived the accident.
Recounting the horrific moment, a neighbour said, "The fire broke out before the morning prayer and I saw something glowing from my window when I stepped out. The view of the house burning was terrifying."
