MoL receives maximum complaints from Dubai workers

ABU DHABI - The Ministry of Labour (MoL) received 2,211 complaints in July with the maximum of 929 claims from 1317 workers in Dubai, according to the MoL statistical report.

The July report stated that 3,101 workers had filed complaints against their employers. Out of these, the MoL resolved 443 disputes and transferred complaints of 144 workers to the court. It reserved 337 claims. There were 1681 complaints under investigation during the same period.

The workers filed claims with the MoL over delayed wages (709), accidents (7), protests (5), alleged abscondence (266), visa cancellation (806), legal dues and others (714,174).


Abu Dhabi accounted for 500 complaints filed by 730 workers, while the lowest number of three complaints were filed at a MoL office in Kalba.

The report showed that the MoL found the solutions to 54 per cent of the complaints. The report covered 10 MoL offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, Khor Fakkan, Kalba, Ras Al Khimah, Ajman, AL Fouairha, and Umm Al Quain.
