Mohammed visits new ZU campus

DUBAI — The Dh370 million new state-of-the-art campus of Zayed University (ZU) in the Academic City in Dubai sprung into action yesterday following the first official visit made by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammed was given a tour of the new campus. He was accompanied by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of Zayed University, Dr Suleiman Al Jassim, Vice President of ZU, and a number of local dignitaries and businessmen.

Happy to see the completed first phase of the campus which opened its doors to 3,000-odd students on September 3, Shaikh Mohammed spent over an hour inspecting the campus facilities as well as meeting and chatting up with the students. Shaikh Mohammed reassured the students of his commitment to providing students the latest educational advanced opportunities in the UAE.

Commenting on Shaikh Mohammed’s visit to the new ZU campus, Shaikh Nahyan said the visit reflects his support to the university and its students.

He explained that the new campus is a new transition to the educational process of Zayed University and its academic programmes and its role in implementing the latest educational practices.
