As per court records, an Indian national working with the grocery store called the police after finding the store burgled the morning after the incident.

The police collected fingerprints from the store and later arrested a suspect.

The suspect’s fingerprints were found matching with the one collected at the store.

During the interrogation, the 20-year-old suspect, M.M.A, confessed to his crime. However, he later retracted his statement, saying he had not committed the crime.

The police then referred the case to the Public Prosecution, which referred it to the Court of First Instance, which sentenced him to six months in jail.

The accused challenged this decision in the Court of Appeal, which dismissed his plea and upheld the decision of the Court of First Instance.
