Though there has been no official confirmation of the functions of the experts, there are reports that this month could see several major changes.

It is said that the new structure of the ministry may make a large number of senior officials redundant.

Some officials, including directors of the departments and their deputies, may be redeployed to the educational zones to tackle their staff shortage.

The educational zones, it is said, would be given more independence to handle their affairs.

The number of officials at the Ministry’s central departments would be more than halved, it is suggested. The excess staff may be transferred to other ministries in coordination with the Civil Service Commission.
