Live video on Instagram? Looks like it
There's something interestingly different on the Instagram Stories line-up shown in this screenshot from a Nexus 6P user from Russia.

Facebook Live video has been such a hit that, apparently, the social media giant is doing something to bring a similar thing to Instagram.
The photo-sharing and doodling service, which Facebook bought for $1 billion in April 2012, seems to be testing a live video capability, according to a report from Russian news site TJournal. (Just use some translation in case you can't read Russian.)

In the screenshot above, there's a "LIVE" thingy clearly marked on the left-most icon in the Stories line-up. According to the report - plus those from The Verge, Engadget and GSM Arena - tapping on it took the user to a page called "popular live broadcasts", but it refused to load - unsurprising because Instagram hasn't announced anything yet on this.
The user in Russia, by the way, spotted this on a beta version of Instagram running on a  Nexus 6P. As at this writing, it's unclear how many users have noticed it, moreso how many have been actually able to use it.
In this second screenshot, the live video feature is apparently called "Go Insta!", though so far there is no substantial proof to claim that this is the one that actually triggers the live feed:

Instagram added a Snapchat-esque feature just recently. Adding this live video feature is another step of making it one more of those well-rounded apps - and, maybe not that unexpected, it was just a matter of when.
