Part of the innovative activities for little ones during Dubai Summer Surprises 2004, the Modhesh Games include the Modhesh Memory Game and Modhesh Spot the Difference quiz the intelligence of the children.

Maryam Arhama, Modhesh Games Supervisor, said: "The two competitions, being organised under the sponsorship of E-Vision, are presented on a big screen and uses the electronic gaming format using a joystick to reach successive levels of complexity. Because of the response it has generated in the last three weeks, the Modhesh games have been organised at various shopping malls in the City to offer an opportunity to a large number of kids to participate."

The two games have witnessed a very percentage of participation from the little ones, who try and showcase their intelligence and ability to crack the 'puzzles', Maryam said, adding that the kids can take part in the game by using a joystick, which can be procured at a cost of Dh2.

The Modhesh Memory Game improves the child's ability to think and memorise. The aim of the game is to make the child think through a complex problem, reach a solution and then take him to the next level, ultimately reaching the end of the game to win.

"The game has eight different images and the child is given 15 seconds to memorise them. Following this, he/ she is expected to select the same eight images from among 14 pictures, which reflects his ability to memorise things," she said, adding that the winner walks away with a host of prizes.

In the Modhesh Spot the Difference competition, the children are expected to identify at least five differences in vaguely familiar looking objects within one minute, which is a test of their ability to concentrate.

The critical element of this game is the speed of execution.

A lot of prizes are up for grabs as part of the competition.
