Khaleej Times successfully concluded the 'KT CIO Connect' with top CIOs and heads of IT departments from government and semi-government organisations, including Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Nakheel, Dubai Customs, Dubai Airports, and Emirates National School, in its media conference room. The initiative was launched by Khaleej Times and MIT Sloan Management Review GCC.
Speaking about the initiative, Ravi Raman, Senior Vice President at Khaleej Times, said, "With technology and digital transforming processes, products and services, companies should see their IT department as the main driver of innovation. KT Connect Program brings together technology leaders, implementers and solution providers for a closed door, intense session."
The initiative aims to move beyond presentations and develop a community of like-minded leaders. The CIO Connect gathered thought leaders for half-a-day session in a relaxed and focused environment where topics related to infrastructure, cybersecurity and impact of technology on legacy issues were discussed at length. The meeting provided a platform for thought leaders to share their opinions and guide other leaders towards problem-solving.
Key statistics were highlighted in the meeting, where 19 per cent stated 'customer experience' followed by 'cyber security' and 'Leadership - inside & outside the IT function' (15 per cent) were the biggest challenges for CIOs in the next five years.
Khaleej Times aims to build on this gathering by connecting more industry thought leaders and creating a platform that fosters intellectual interactions.
