Dubai: Indian film star and Kalyan Jewellers brand ambassador Manju Warrier inaugurated the group's showroom at the 20th edition of Global Village on Sunday. She was accompanied by N.R. Venkatraman, head of overseas operations, Kalyan Jewellers.
The showroom is themed around the Taj Mahal - one of the Seven Wonders of the world.
In a strategic move to consolidate its presence in the UAE, Kalyan Jewellers has forged an association with the Global Village in Dubai. The 20th edition of Global Village is the largest seasonal cultural extravaganza in the region. Around five million visitors are expected to visit the Global Village.
T.S. Kalyanaraman, chairman and managing director, Kalyan Jewellers, said: "We trust that our Taj Mahal-themed showroom will be the centre of attraction in this edition of Global Village. We have showcased some of India's best jewellery craftsmanship in various motifs and designs - especially Kalyan's temple, antique and uncut jewellery. Kalyan Jewellers will distribute over a million prizes."
Strategically positioned at the main entrance of Global Village (Gate No 1), the Kalyan Jewellers showroom is expected to be a major attraction. Customers visiting the showroom will have a chance to win instant prizes through a scratch and win coupon, which can be redeemed instantly at the Kalyan Jewellers Taj Mahal showroom.
The range of prizes includes gold coins, redeemable vouchers, waiver of making charges and gift vouchers among others. Global Village festivities will go on until April 9, 2016.
Ahmad Hussain Bin Essa, CEO of Global Village, said: "This year, Global Village is celebrating its 20th season and to mark this historic occasion, we wanted to introduce something new and impactful for our visitors. Therefore, the destination has themed retail locations. Kalyan Jewellers has imbibed this sentiment which will result in providing an iconic and first-of-its-kind jewellery shopping experience to our visitors."
Kalyan Jewellers has 86 showrooms spread across India and West Asia. Within a short span of time, Kalyan Jewellers has made a strong impact in the GCC - with 10 showrooms in the UAE and three in Kuwait. The company has acquired a customer base of over 250,000 in less than two years in the GCC and has been rolling out a slew of initiatives to drive customer engagement.
Recently, the company had launched a promotional campaign where customers could win a Bentley car, a first for the UAE. The company was also the first to launch a Goldback credit card with Rakbank in the UAE.
