Iraqi national Mohammed Khudair, 63, was found dead on Friday in his family apartment in Al Majaz area. Police, who were tipped off by an unidentified caller, rushed to the apartment but found no one present there.
After a while, the two girls, aged 22 and 19, entered the apartment along with their mother, the police source said. On initial questioning, the girls claimed their father had suffered a fall before going to bed while they were out on shopping with their mother. However, police discovered some blood stains in the living room and also found small pieces of papers in the trash bin. When the CID officers put the pieces together they found that the man had written a message which stated that he loved his wife and daughters and that he was not having relationship with another woman.
Forensic reports showed that the man had wounds and bruises all over his body and had suffered internal bleeding in the head apparently caused by beating.
The police arrested the woman and her two daughters who later confessed that while their mother had hit their father, they too had joined her in beating him up. They, however, said their intention was not to kill him.
The police said the 15-year-old son of the deceased was not aware of the crime because he was not at home on the day.
The police have referred the case to Sharjah Public Persecution for further investigation and trial.
