Hit-and-run accused meets with accident while fleeing
SHARJAH — A UAE national sustained serious injuries when his car hit a cement barrier on the Sharjah Cooperative Society roundabout in Al Yash area in Sharjah yesterday.
The accident happened as he trying to flee after hitting another vehicle near the Imran Teryam roundabout.
Hassan Ibrahim, 32, was driving his car.
The police said that Ibrahim, who was driving his car recklessly, hit a Land Cruiser Toyota car from behind. The Land Cruiser was being driven by Khalid Mohammed, another UAE national. After this Ibrahim tried to speed away from the place of the accident, and in the process, met with the accident.
The Police said that the accident caused traffic congestion in the roundabout area. The police removed the vehicle which had been damaged.
