Hindrance to traffic tops violation chart

DUBAI — Violations causing hindrance to smooth flow of traffic topped the charts of violations with a score of 1,648 in May, statistics available with Rifaa Police Station indicate.

The statistics showed that such violations accounted for 26 per cent of the total, including fines for leaving cars in the middle of the road after minor accidents. Captain Omar Moussa Ashour, Coordinator of Traffic Movement Department in Dubai Police, said: “More than 318 fines were handed out to people who park their cars on the pavements, another 224 for not sticking to one lane, 12 for jumping signals and 42 for parking violations.”
