Khalid Sharif Al Awadhi, Director of the Food Control Department, would answer queries from the people.

Under the initiative, anyone with a query or complaint on the civic services could speak directly with senior officials on specific days.

People can dial toll-free 8004999 and talk to Sharif and other officials from the department on topics related to food safety, food trade, rumours that spread through emails about different types of food or anything concerning food establishments including restaurants, coffee shops and cafeterias.

Khalid Abdul Rahim, Director of Customer Relations Department, said the Managers on Air initiative would facilitate an easy and smooth interaction between the public and the officials.

The service would be offered on a rotation basis. Officials of the departments that have direct relations with the customers such as Public Parks and Horticulture Department, Food Control Department, Public Health Services Department, Waste Management Department and Environment Department would come on the line.

Comments, suggestions and grievances raised by members of the public would be taken seriously and all efforts would be made by the municipality to correct the flaws and simplify procedures for availing each and every service offered by its various departments.
