Dertour Reiseakademie will be held for the second time in Dubai from November 28 to December 10 and is expected to attract over 1,000 participants, mostly decision-makers and top-level management of the tour companies from Germany and other places.

Erwin Dreiser, president, sales and promotion of Dertour, briefed Bin Sulayem about the arrangements and acknowledged the support extended to them by the DTCM and Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB).

“Dertour Reiseakademie in Dubai clearly reflects the support we enjoy in the German market. As far as we could see, the future looks bright. German visitors will play a significant role in ensuring that Dubai achieves its ambitious growth agenda,” said Bin Sulayem.

He added that high-profile tour operators like Dertour have been contributing enormously in bringing a large number of visitors to the emirate.

For Dubai, Germany is the second largest source market in Europe and ranks number seventh worldwide. At present, up to 112 weekly flights are available between Dubai and Germany.

The total number of German guests in Dubai hotel in 2005 totalled 264,298, an increase of 12 per cent from 2004. As many as 184 German tour operators are featuring Dubai in their programmes, an increase of 19 per cent compared with the 2004-2005 period.
