GCC Justice Ministers Conference opens in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI — UAE Justice Minister Dr. Hadef Bin Jouan Al Dhahiri opened here today the 23rd meeting of the Justice ministers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

In his speech chairing the meeting, Al Dhahiri said that the conference is held at a time when the region and the world at large are witnessing fast and complicated developments, especially in the economic, social and technological spheres which will cause their impacts on the systems in the GCC states.

These developments necessitates revision of various fields of cooperation and enhancement of efforts for better coordination according to a well-studied plan, the minister added.

Noting that the meeting coincides the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of UAE National Day, Al-Dhahiri offered greetings to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of emirates.

He welcomed the justice ministers of the GCC states and expressed hope that the meeting will bring out decisions that will enhance cohesion among the member countries.
