The event not only celebrated the chapter's annual gathering but also marked a significant milestone as the chapter commemorated its 10th anniversary
At a Press meet yesterday, prominent scholar Dr Khawaja Mohammed Zakaria, Ex-Principal Oriental College, on a visit to Dubai to deliver a lecture on the occasion, said that though Iqbal died in 1938, his rich works in the form of poetry and prose guide us even today. Dr Zakaria will deliver a lecture titled "The Present Thought and Iqbal."
Allama Mohammed Iqbal, poet and philosopher, was the thought behind the creation of Pakistan. He has written in Persian, Urdu and English while his works have also been translated into several other languages world over. His range of interests covered religion, philosophy, art, politics, economics, the revival of Muslim life and universal brotherhood of man. Poetry was his medium par excellence of expression. Everything he thought and felt, almost involuntarily, shaped itself into verse. Also present at the press conference were Shafi Samana, President Pakistan Association, Saleem Farooq, General Secretary and Riaz Farooq, Welfare Secretary.
