Focus on Zayed's leadership

ABU DHABI - The Abu Dhabi Centre for Rehabilitation of the Disabled yesterday celebrated the 37th anniversary of the Accession Day of the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. A variety of programmes were staged at a special ceremony organised by the Social and Psychological Services Department. Children presented a musical concert on Shaikh Zayed on the occasion.

A troupe from Dar Zayed for Orphanage performed the traditional 'Ayyala' dance. Officials from the Ministry of Health, General Authority for Health Services for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Central Preventive Medicine Department, Cultural Foundation, UAE Red Crescent, the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Educational Zone, were present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Mutwali Mohammed, Imam and Khateeb of the Cultural Foundation's Mosque, praised the development in the country, under the visionary leadership of Shaikh Zayed and described it as magnificent and full of achievements. He also lauded Shaikh Zayed's role in lending a helpful hand to Arabs and Muslims all over the world.

"Shaikh Zayed has been paying due attention to crucial issues such as education, health, environment in addition to religious institutions", said Shaikh Mohammed.

Dr Ali Al Attas, Director of the Centre, said: "We should seize this opportunity to follow the path of the leader in exerting tremendous efforts in building this country." Dr Ahmed Jalal Salama, Head of Speech and Language Department at the Centre and Acting Medical Director, announced that a new ward with the capacity of 18 beds will be inaugurated soon.
