The Ghaf Art Gallery, located in Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, will display contemporary art from all over the world, especially from the UAE and the Gulf region.

The three owners of the 1,500-sq km gallery — Hanadi Al Fahim, Jalal Luqman and Mohammed Kanoo — said they are planning to organise both single and group exhibitions once every two weeks.

Jalal Luqman, a digital artist himself, said he and his partners were concerned about providing a platform for artists so that they could get the recognition they deserved.

“The gallery is a dream come true for me. We wanted to create a space where people could come and experience something different. We believe in our artists and their work and now we want to share our passion with the public.”

Hanadi Al Fahim added that the Ghaf Art Gallery will not just give people the opportunity to admire art works, but will also allow them to purchase fine art objects.

“Our gallery will also serve as an insiration for other art galleries to open in Abu Dhabi in the future,” she said.

Mohamed Kanoo, a well-known artist in the UAE, said the gallery is named after the Ghaf tree because every part of this unique tree has a purpose, and, for this reason, it is treasured.

The art gallery is also planning to contribute to the recently launched Save the Ghaf Tree campaign by the Emirates Wildlife Society - World Wide Fund for Nature and the Al Fahim Group.

“The Ghaf’s inherent beauty is a wonder to behold, adding variety to what some perceive as a rather bleak landscape, often devoid of vegetation,” added Kanoo.

He will also be the first artist to exhibit his works at the Ghaf Art Gallery. It’s a series titled ‘Recent Works’.

The collection consists of various genres — portraits, calligraphy, automotive, digital art, etc.

Following Kanoo’s ‘Recent Works’, the gallery will host a solo exhibition of artist and Ghaf partner Luqman.

Other artists already lined up to display their works at the Ghaf include Camelia Mohebi, Mohamed Mandi, Sumaya Al Suweidi, Abdul Qader Al Rayes and others.
