Fire breaks out in Sharjah’s under-construction building
SHARJAH — The Sharjah National Travel and Tourism Agency (SNTTA) offices were closed yesterday after a fire broke out in a nearby building under-construction in the Al Rolla area. The offices were evacuated by the police as thick smoke emanating from the fire enveloped the area.
According to a fire-fighter, the fire was caused by short circuit in the concrete mix grinder at the construction site.
The sparks fell on the wooden planks placed at the construction site causing the fire to spread to the building under construction. No one was reported injured in the fire that erupted around 3.00pm and was put out in about 20 minutes.
