Ethiopian maid attempts suicide
SHARJAH — A 23-year-old Ethiopian maid allegedly tried to commit suicide on Sunday by hanging herself at her sponsor’s house in Khor Fakkan.
The maid, identified as A.N., allegedly tried to kill herself after her attempts to run away were foiled by the UAE sponsor by locking her in a room, a police source told Khaleej Times. They said the maid, who arrived in the country recently, had tried to run away from the house earlier too.
