Ethiopian maid attempts suicide

The maid, identified as A.N., allegedly tried to kill herself after her attempts to run away were foiled by the UAE sponsor by locking her in a room, a police source told Khaleej Times. They said the maid, who arrived in the country recently, had tried to run away from the house earlier too.

After regaining consciousness in the hospital, the maid told the police that she treid to kill herself because the sponsor’s family was mistreating her.
