Under a system in place since October 21, aid trucks had to drive for inspection to the Al-Awja and Nitzana crossing on Egypt's border with Israel before returning to Rafah, a round trip of more than 80km
”The airline is moving disrupted passengers as quickly as possible with an additional two services to London Gatwick operating today. Yesterday’s additional services to Gatwick helped to move a further 1,100 passengers both in and out of the UK.”
Emirates has advised that passengers travelling to and from the UK and Europe via Dubai, who held bookings for travel during the disruption, are now being accepted, provided they hold confirmed bookings on their new flights.
“Our services to Europe are back on track and we are doing everything we can to get the last remaining disrupted passengers to their final destination, as quickly as possible. Where slots are available we have put on additional services, including another two services to Gatwick for the second day running. We appreciate that this has been a stressful time for many travellers and thank them for their continued understanding and patience”, said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Europe ‘&’ Russian Federation.
All passengers are advised to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport on www.emirates.com. Passengers are asked not to go to the airport unless they have a confirmed seat on a flight.
Online check in is currently suspended for all Emirates flights.
Emirates’ customers affected by the disruption can cancel their booking or change their onward destination without charge. All re-issue and cancellation fees will be waived while the disruption is ongoing.
