In a statement issued yesterday, the officials said that Filipino nationals in the UAE, who are on visit visas and seeking employment and also those who have left the Philippines on assurances of job, are vulnerable to exploitation by unscrupulous elements.

Meanwhile, the embassy has also reminded Filipino expatriates in the UAE of the decision by the Philippines government of a recent ban on travel Iraq for employment. It is also noted that a Filipino national from Dubai was detained in Baghdad International Airport after it was determined that the visa stamped on the passport was fake, it said.

Filipino nationals in the UAE are also called upon to avoid travel to Iran on visit visa if they have the intention of working or finding employment in that country, it said, adding that the Filipino nationals who have been promised employment in Iran should ensure that the agency or prospective employer provides them with the appropriate visa.
