Dubai Joins Moscow Tourism Show

Officials at the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) said Russia remains a key market in its promotional and marketing agenda as it plays a crucial role for Dubai to reach out to the industry professionals, potential businessand leisure tourists and mediarepresentatives there.

Dubai hotel records show that it hosted 354,189 guests from Russia, CIS and Baltic region from January to September last year. In 2007, the emirate received 473,037 guests from the same destinations.

Eyad Ali Abdul Rahman, DTCM executive director for media relations and acting director for business development, led a Dubai delegation and addressed the opening ceremony of the MITT, of which Dubai is the partner destination this year. The DTCM, which just ended its participation in the Berlin tourism exhibition, is putting up a stand at the world’s top five tourism shows to showcase the best of Dubai’s tourism product offering and network with the local travel and tourism industry players.
