The entourage is being led by Mr Ibrahim Saleh, Chief Operations Officer of DSS, and Lieutenant Colonel Jassim Abdul Ghafour, Assistant Director of Executive Office, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD). It also includes representatives of hotels and hotel apartments, tourism companies, rent-a-car companies in Dubai, who are offering special promotional packages for the duration of the Surprises.

The road shows will be organised in Muscat on Tuesday, followed by Manama (May 26), Kuwait City (May 29) and Doha (May 30). From Doha, the delegation will begin the last leg of the road shows, which will be organised in various Saudi Arabian cities - Dammam (May 31), Jeddah (June 1) and Riyadh (June 2).

The road shows will incorporate Press Conferences and workshops for travel agents, tour operators, rent-a-car companies and hotels, who will showcase their different promotions during the 10 weeks of DSS.

Mr Saleh said the road shows in various Gulf cities are part of the annual calendar of DSS Office, where it promotes the different facets of the event, inviting the families to partake of the many activities, which form the core of the most comprehensive event of its kind in the region.

He said that the workshops and the Press Conferences, which play vital roles in attracting hordes of visitors to Dubai, will primarily focus on the various activities and promotions lined up during DSS 2004.

Mr Saleh pointed out that DSS 2004 is poised to register 10 per cent growth in the number of visitors because the event has been designed primarily as a total family experience, which offers a gamut of activities, providing the best in entertainment and knowledge over a period of 10 weeks.

On Sunday, the representatives of hotels, tour operators, travel agents and rent-a-car companies unveiled the various promotions planned during the 10-week extravaganza at a meeting hosted by the DSS Office.

Mr. Saleh said that the increase in the number of hotels and tour operators taking part in the annual road shows in various AGCC cities is a testimony to the positive impact that DSS has had on their business over the last six years.
